A Girafe?
Girafe la Girafe is the central character of a series of independent stories written by Jean-Lucien Nino: « A giraffe at the sea« , « Mechanical Giraffes« , « Girafe in cows« , « Girafe and Les Chameaux« , « Girafe and Momo« . Every story tells a little about us, about our life of our desires, about the difference, about the differences. The Girafe is mocked, mocked, tender, impressed, passionate, tender, but especially alive. The author takes liberties with his giraffe. Thus, although in nature the Girafe never wails, the author took the side to go against reality in order to emphasize the childish side of Girafe the giraffe who is tired quickly, or who finds in sleep a refuge to avoid mockery.

The author left a real visit he made to the Fréjus Zoo in 2004, where he saw the depressing of the animals, especially the giraffes. The vision of a yellow buoy that looked from a distance like a giraffe in the sea, a few days later in Cannes, gave him the idea of writing « A Girafe at the sea » where he recounts the trip of Girafe the giraffe to escape from the Fréjus Zoo and then his turbulent encounter with men but also other different animals d'elle (Madagascar had not yet come out !!). This show is an adaptation of the first 2 stories of giraffe « A Girafe at the sea » and » Mechanical Giraffes », to which the author added 9 original songs + a traditional African. Before becoming a show, the different readings allowed the actresses to find the characters, to make live the scenes written and described by the author. In parallel, cellist Aurélie Verrier put the texts into music. She had an instruction from the author to mix the genres between the characters of history, and the double Franco-African root of giraffe. The kora and the balafon quickly imposed themselves, becoming themselves characters of the show.
