CAPTAIN ERIC
After a course in classical percussion, Éric captain obtained a 1st prize in Agostini graduate studies in Paris and started playing every night in Enghien-Les-Bains with his guitarist friend Alain Cadiou. Two seasons at the Mediterranean Club follow where he meets Vincent Lagaf. This will lead to a tour in Japan with Australian singer Brookie Desk. Later he met Mokhtar Samba with whom he worked on African rhythms.
In 1995, with Rai Baba Salem, a rai and gnawa music band, he won the Printemps de Bourges (20th anniversary). Eric Captain has also worked with Faudel on several concerts. He has collaborated with various artists: Vincent Lagaf, Stéphane Maillot, Pierre Richard and the Aleph theatre under the direction of Anita Valejo, Olivier Carole (bassist Ben l'Uncle Soul).
On a national level with the band Corto Maltese, Alvaro Bello, Chilean guitarist, album « ? Y Qué Paso!» In the song and blues he collaborates with Yann Lem and records the album « Between blues and granite » (« 1st French blues album »), the Compagnie du Perche by Frédéric Smektala with Jean-Louis Mary, Cyril Catois and Pierre Schirrer – show on Yves Montand.
Eric Captain plays in several jazz, soul, funk bands like the Zitoun Quintet, the 3C with Brice Choplin. He also performed with Stefan Patry at Hammond organ, Trio Pop with Antoine Delaunay and Patrick Hoarau and the band Pagoya, Ivan Chavez whom he finds in the European jazz collective Potluck created by Jean-Jacques Ruhlmann where he meets Aurélie Verrier. In 2022 they together mounted the trio CellosDrums with cellist Nathalie Lethullier. At the same time he created with Aurélie Verrier the collective AV.EC which occurs in duet or inviting other musicians according to the performances. In 2023, he co-composed with Aurélie Verrier the music of the young audience show « The Girafe Symphony ».
