Each stage hosts a different group for a friendly jazz evening.Like the traditional New Orleans dish known for its variety of ingredients, its spicy intensity and its high calorie degree, the Special Gumbo delights us with a music rich in influences, of rare power.
Like the traditional New Orleans dish known for its variety of ingredients, its spicy intensity and its high caloric degree, the Special Gumbo delights us with a music rich in influences, of rare power. The Parisian combo, born in 2017 is a pocket orchestra reinterpreting the « Early Jazz » 1920s Cajun music, spirituals, Blues or even standards of the 1930s. By revisiting in a heterodox and somewhat anachronistic way all these musics from New Orleans, the Special Gumbo transports us with a purely acoustic sound, from ballrooms and honky tonks to the old chapels and cabins of Bayou passing through the parades of Tuesday gras. The only word they believe in: It Dons Mean a Thing If It Ains Got That Swing. For digestion, you'll have to dance! With Florent Hinschberger (Trompette, Chant), Philippe Lopes de Sa (Saxophone Soprano, Chant), lon Lopez de Vicuña (Saxophone Baryton, Chant), Benjamin Ramón (Banjo, Guitar, Chant), Eric Captain Washboard, Chant.
